We craft our pieces in recycled highly available materials, meaning nothing is taken from the earth to make your jewellery. We also work to ensure that each piece is made for every chapter of your life, and want to discourage the notion that jewellery should be bought and saved for good - we believe in enjoying it, wearing it and loving it. Our plating is applied through a high quality, environmentally friendly process known as PVD which makes it 10 times stronger than traditional gold plating and guarantees the colour will not fade. This means you can swim in it and gym in it.
Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating involves vaporising a material in a vacuum environment. This material is then deposited as a thin layer onto another surface. In our case, this involves 14k recycled gold or silver on to stainless steel. It is a technique widely used by jewellery and watch brands like Tag Heuer and even Chanel due to it’s surperior quality over gold plating. On top of this, PVD coating is considered environmentally friendly because it produces fewer harmful by-products compared to traditional plating methods.
Because of the use of technology, materials and equipment needed, PVD is a more expensive process than simply gold plating but our philosophy is not to add the marks-ups usually associated with the jewellery industry so we keep our prices affordable.
All LUCID jewellery is finished with ProtectaClear® which is a skin-safe, anti-tarnish clear coating that is practically invisible and will protect your jewellery from tarnish, oxidation and fading. After it is crafted, ProtectaClear® is painted onto LUCID jewellery and provides a protective barrier between the metal and sensitive skin, making the jewellery hypoallergenic. ProtectaClear® is a low-VOC formulation and is considered an ‘eco green’ coating.
We believe that durable, yet beautiful, jewellery should still be affordable so all of our pieces come without the traditional markups associated with the jewellery industry.
Our pieces are designed so don't you have to take them off everyday. They are tested against heat, sweat and water - making them tough enough for life. Plus, we promise our pieces don't contain any metals that would cause skin to turn green.

Whether you're showering, working out, or swimming, our pieces will maintain their vibrant colour when exposed to water, heat or sweat. Our extensive testing shows that there will be no colour fading when exposed to these elements. However, while our jewellery is designed to be life-proof, we still advise taking care of it the way you would yourself. Try to avoid exposure to any chemicals (including shampoos, fragrances and sun creams) and when you see it lacking lustre, simply give it a good polish with the complimentary cloth that is provided.
